The MIT Beaver Works Summer Institute (BWSI) is a challenging and prestigious STEM program designed for high-achieving students entering their senior year of high school. Our immersive four-week summer program builds advanced STEM skills through hands-on, project-based, workshop-style courses. Students can explore a wide range of cutting-edge topics—from artificial intelligence and autonomy to radar, satellites, and beyond.

BWSI also offers introductory STEM programs during the fall and spring, held on Saturdays and running 8–12 weeks. These courses provide strong foundations and pathways into our more advanced offerings.

BWSI hosts 2 national team-based challenges, that begin each fall. With support from experienced mentors, teams work toward key project milestones throughout the year, culminating in final competitions for each challenge.
